GLITCH’S VERDICT
Takes what worked in Fable Anniversary and actually improves it – better story, smoother combat, and deeper systems make this the Fable game worth playing.

RATING: 4/5
PROS
- Story stays engaging from beginning to end with better dialogue and narrative focus throughout.
- Combat and movement feel smoother with improved auto-lock targeting that works well in fights.
- Property ownership, money-making activities (blacksmithing, bartending), and expanded choice systems add depth.
- NPC relationships and morality consequences create meaningful interactions beyond just combat.
- Art style ages well – whimsical aesthetic still looks good even without a remaster.
CONS
- Save system is frustrating – one save file with no autosave after major completions (lost 30 minutes to a freeze).
- Auto-lock targeting struggles outside combat when trying to interact with NPCs or objects.
- Side quests are forgettable and mostly exist for renown grinding.
- Money becomes useless after buying top-tier weapons despite deep property systems.
- NPCs constantly crowd you when famous, making towns annoying to navigate.
BOTTOM LINE
Buy if: You want a charming action RPG with meaningful choices and a story that actually delivers from start to finish.
Skip if: You need every system to be perfectly balanced – the money and fame mechanics have frustrating quirks.
